I was sent to Walldorf to train with the TCC group in 1998, along with about 10 other colleagues from the Dublin office. Coming from R/3 upgrades I had no clue about performance tuning and luckily Burkhard was our trainer. He was a little intimidating at first! But gradually I found out that he was intensely curious and had a deadpan wit, bringing a very humane approach to our training. Over the weeks I soaked up as much of the technology as I could, but not until years later did I understand he had really been teaching us the value of patience. It turns out to be a valuable commodity. He was one of a kind and will be very much missed.
